Hawaiian Swimming & USA Swimming Present the 2010 Swimposium

The USA Swimming Swimposium is a great opportunity to learn more about your favorite sport. This is for all Hawaiian Swimming members including athletes, officials, coaches, and parents - don’t miss it!!! [ pdf ]

  • This swimposium is FREE to all current USA Swimming registered athletes and their parents and current USA Swimming registered non-athletes. Please complete and email the following registration form by Tuesday, March 23, 2010. [ pdf ]
Guest Presenters:
  • PAT LUNSFORD is a USA Swimming N3 (National Championship certification level) official, evaluator and mentor. He has completed numerous Officials training clinics nationwide and served on committees and task forces for USA Swimming. He has chaired the National Officials Committee and currently is the Vice President of Program Operations for USA Swimming. Officiating Career Highlights:

    • Official for U.S. Olympic Trials, U.S. Open, Duel in the Pool, FINA, Pan-Pac

  • MARIEJO PASION is a Sports Performance Consultant with USA Swimming’s National Team Division for past quad working with the National team athletes and coaches. Her position included video and race analysis, lactate testing, nutrition services. Career Highlights:
    • Technical staff for: 2006 Short Course Worlds, 2006 Pan Pac’s, 2007 Pan Am’s and 2008 Short Course Worlds teams.
    • Head coach (college) 7 years including several All-Americans, 13 years (club coaching)
    • Coached swimming and Paralympics swimming; cycling, running and triathlon for Chris Carmichael, (Lance Armstrong’s coach)
    • Graduate of New York University (both undergraduate and postgraduate)
    • Certified Natural (Dryland) Trainer 2009, National Strength and Conditioning Certified (in progress).
  • MISTY HYMAN was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. She graduated from Shadow Mountain High School in 1997. Misty swam for Arizona Desert Fox under Coach Bob Gillett and attended Stanford University on a swimming scholarship where she majored in International Relations. Misty is currently completing her MBA in Finance and Hotel Management from Les Roches University in Switzerland. She completed her coursework overseas, and is now residing in Phoenix while working on her thesis. Career Highlights:
    • 2000 Olympic Games Champion - 200 Butterfly
    • American Record Holder
    • 13-time National Champion
    • 5-time NCAA Champion
    • 28-time All-American
    • Misty enjoys participating in swim clinics and sharing her experiences and expertise with up and coming swimmers.
  • PAM COOK has been Lake Erie Swimming LSC registrar for 15 years and on the National Registration Committee for nine years, of which she chaired the committee for four years. She has been actively involved in the design, implementation and enhancements to the SWIMS database. Pam is also an Assistant Professor at Notre Dame College and empowers teachers in the integration of technology. Pam's professional and volunteer work can best be summed up by "Empowers people digitally".
  • CATHY DURANCE has been a USA Swimming staff member since 1982. She is currently Member Services Coordinator and is responsible for the SWIMS membership database. She serves as staff liaison to the national Registration/Membership Committee. She also works with LSCs on registration procedures and membership policies, including the 120-day rule and coach membership requirements.
